Who were his own people who did not
accept Jesus?
Who were the lost sheep of Israel for
whom Jesus was sent?
John Chapter
1:31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest
to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.
John Chapter
1:32 And John bare record, saying,
Matthew Chapter 15
15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the
lost sheep of the house of Israel.
John Chapter
10:12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose
own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and
fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling
fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
10:8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers:
but the sheep did not hear them.
10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his
life for the sheep.
Now we became known among the house of Israel
; 24Then Jacob was
left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the [g]breaking of
day. 25Now when He
saw that He did not prevail against him, He [h]touched the
socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He
wrestled with him. 26And He said,
“Let Me go, for the day breaks.”
But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”
27So He said to
him, “What is your name?”
He said, “Jacob.”
28And He said,
“Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but [i]Israel; for
you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
29Then Jacob
asked, saying, “Tell me Your name, I pray.”
And He said, “Why is it that you
ask about My name?” And He blessed him there.
; 20So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her.
21Then Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to
her.”
23Now it came to pass in the evening, that he took
Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob; and he went in to her. 24And Laban gave his maid Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid.
25So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, “What is this you have done
to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you deceived me?”
27Fulfill her
week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve
with me still another seven years.”
28Then Jacob did
so and fulfilled her week. So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife
also. 29And Laban gave
his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid. 30Then Jacob also
went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with
Laban still another seven years.
The Children of Jacob
31When
the Lord saw
that Leah was [d]unloved,
He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren.
In this way
Jacob i.e. whose name later became Israel had 4 wives.
; 22And it
happened, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah
his father’s concubine; and Israel heard about it.
Jacob’s Twelve Sons
Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: 23the sons of
Leah were Reuben, Jacob’s firstborn, and Simeon, Levi, Judah,
Issachar, and Zebulun; 24the sons of
Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin; 25the sons of
Bilhah, Rachel’s maidservant, were Dan and Naphtali; 26and the sons
of Zilpah, Leah’s maidservant, were Gad and Asher. These were the
sons of Jacob who were born to him in Padan Aram.
; 20And to Joseph
in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath, the daughter
of Poti-Pherah priest of On, bore to him. 21The sons of
Benjamin were Belah, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh,
Muppim, [k]Huppim, and
Ard. 22These were the
sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob: fourteen persons in all.
23The son of
Dan was [l]Hushim. 24The sons of
Naphtali were [m]Jahzeel,
Guni, Jezer, and [n]Shillem. 25These were the
sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave to Rachel his daughter, and she bore these to
Jacob: seven persons in all.
26All the
persons who went with Jacob to Egypt, who came from his body, besides Jacob’s
sons’ wives, were sixty-six persons in all. 27And the sons
of Joseph who were born to him in Egypt were two persons. All
the persons of the house of Jacob who went to Egypt were seventy.
; 40Now the [i]sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in [j]Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. 41And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty
years—on that very same day—it came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.
; 9So Moses wrote this law and delivered it to the priests, the
sons of Levi, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. 10And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the year of
release, at the Feast of Tabernacles, 11when all Israel comes to appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses, you
shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12Gather the people together, men and women and little ones,
and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may
learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words
of this law, 13and that their children, who have not known it, may
hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land
which you cross the Jordan to possess.”
Matthew Chapter 3
; 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan
unto John, to be baptized of him. |
|
|
|
3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to
be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? |
|
|
3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him,
Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil
all righteousness. Then he suffered him. |
|
|
3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up
straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and
he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: |
|
|
3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is
my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. |
Galatians Chapter 4
; 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent
forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might
receive the adoption of sons.

Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to
his disciples, |
|
|
|
23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit
in Moses' seat: |
|
|
23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you
observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their
works: for they say, and do not. |
|
|
23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to
be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will
not move them with one of their fingers. |
|
|
23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen
of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their
garments, |
|
|
23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and
the chief seats in the synagogues, |
|
|
23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be
called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. |
|
|
23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your
Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. |
|
23:9 And call no man your
father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. |
|
|
Matthew 23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is
your Master, even Christ. |
|
|
|
23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be
your servant. |
|
|
23:12 And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be
abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. |
|
|
23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither
go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go
in. |
|
|
23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long
prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. |

Matthew 10:1 And when he had called unto him his
twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean
spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner
of disease. |
|
|
10:2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are
these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother;
James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; |
|
|
10:3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and
Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and
Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; |
|
|
10:4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot,
who also betrayed him. |
|
|
10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and
commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city
of the Samaritans enter ye not: |
|
|
10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the
house of Israel. |
|
|
10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom
of heaven is at hand. |

9:30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which
followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the
righteousness which is of faith.
Galatians Chapter 3
3:8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would
justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through
faith.
